Figure Drawing Class with LINDA CAPELLO on Zoom

$25.00

Description

Our Zoom class with Linda began when Covid-19 shuttered live gatherings.  As in-person learning opportunities have resumed recently our attendance fell and we contemplated ending our virtual chapter.  But this learning format fills a need for some, like myself, who enjoy the convenience of a familiar workspace and the ability to make up the missed classes with a recording.  Linda’s critiques are illuminating and her demos instructive.

And so, in order to carry on with a smaller class size we have increased the fee but are now offering a block of classes for a reduced rate.

Join us two TUESDAYS a month from 3-5 for a virtual class on Zoom. Experience this two hour instructed figure drawing class, emphasizing gesture, line, mass, form, and foreshortening. We’ll draw a series of timed poses working, with Linda, from a variety of images…..all levels of experience are welcome.

The Zoom ‘room’ will open at 2 for participants to become familiar with the class format.

Linda Capello is a classically trained anatomist and master of figure drawing.

In this online format, Linda will demonstrate and participants may observe, draw, or combine the two. There are a number of different ways to experience this class. We’ll go over these options in the beginning of the session.
Whatever medium you are accustomed to is appropriate. Linda suggests an 18×24″ newsprint pad (or whatever paper you prefer), soft vine charcoal (or whatever medium you prefer) and a kneaded eraser in her live classes.

Linda Capello is a master of figure drawing. A graduate of the Fashion Institute of Technology, she worked in the NYC fashion industry for over twenty years. She is listed in Who’s Who of American Women, and received the Miriam Russo Enders Award: For Works on Paper, from the National Association of Woman Artists (May 2009), for her red conte drawing “So Inclined”. “All I have ever wanted to do was draw, and all I have ever wanted to draw were people. I am a classically trained anatomist, but instead of the rigid, mechanical representation of muscle, bone and flesh, I look for the subtlety of the line; the strength and sensuality of the thick, thin and lost line. The curve of the neck and arch of the spine speak volumes.” Capello teaches extensively at the Parrish Museum, The Art Barge, the Southampton Cultural Center, the Golden Eagle in Easthampton and is a member of Southampton Artists.
