The Still Life
Duane Keiser will lead a unique and challenging workshop on still life painting. Over the course of two, all-day sessions, students will study ways of constructing and investigating a still life over time, including various strategies for observing and representing light and texture, form and volume, reflection and refraction. On the first day, each student will arrange their own still life composition and, through a series of short exercises and oil sketches, gradually refine it. The second day will be spent working on the final iteration of this still life with Keiser helping each student work through their individual challenges.
