Dan Welden continues to inspire artists, teachers and students around the world in workshops where he demonstrates
how to make Solarplates and printing both intaglio and relief plates.

Like artists throughout the ages, Dan has been influenced by forms of landscape from Norway, Peru, New Zealand, and Arizona, as well as the beautiful motifs of the East End of Long Island.

Dan spent much of his early art career promoting healthier and safer printmaking, which eventually led him to develop the Solarplate technique. This process; though simpler, more spontaneous, and more economical than traditional etching; incorporates a broader range of imagery than any other printmaking medium and includes drawings, photographs, and  paintings.
