JADA ROWLAND Painting a Person Outdoors
September 12 – September 16 2011
Time: 8:00AM – 4:00PM
Award winning painter, Jada Rowland, began her artistic journey as an actor on the stage at age three. She filled her scripts, over many years and productions, with sketches of her fellow actors. After a long and successful career on the stage and screen, Jada morphed naturally from performing to fine art. Her watercolor and oil portraits, landscapes and still lifes are greatly admired by her peers and widely collected by her many patrons.
In this five day workshop at The South Street Gallery and on site , Jada demonstrates a variety of techniques and mediums. Intermediate and advanced painters will explore rendering a person outdoors, weather permitting, through drawing, value, color, composition and shape. Students will learn to mix color and handle paint in the medium, or mediums, of their choice.
.A visit to Jada’s studio, a short walk away from the gallery, is included in the workshop.
