negative space to capture the figure,

proportional studies,

geometricizing the figure, light and shade,

fee – $150 (includes model’s fee)

Rani Carson began her painting career in the Caribbean. She then lived in Paris and studied paintings throughout Europe, and returned to earn her MFA at Brooklyn College. She taught painting, watercolor,drawing, life drawing and design at the Grant Campus (and occasionally at the Eastern Campus) ofSuffolk County Community College for 36 years where she also curated the campus art gallery. She also taught at the Edna Manley College for the Visual Arts in Kingston, Jamaica.  Rani has had many one-person exhibitions in the U.S. and Jamaica, and participated in many group shows in both locations. Her work has also been included in an international exhibition at the Meguro Museum of Art in Tokyo.   Her paintings have been reviewed in several publications in the U.S. andJamaica, including the Winter/Watercolor edition of American Artist (2003). More recently, she was interviewed on Hazel Kahan’s radio program “Tidings” (May 13, 2014).
